Month 1: Introduction and basic concepts
- Basic rules of the game
- Proper stance and ball handling
- Basic dribbling drills
- Simple games to start moving with the ball
Month 2: Dribbling and ball control
- Dribbling without looking at the ball
- Dribbling on the move
- Dribbling with both hands equally
- Short game: "Dribble elimination" (whoever loses control of the ball is out of the game)
Month 3: Passing and receiving
- Chest pass and bounce pass
- Partner passing drills
- Passing and movement without the ball
- Short game: "Timed passes" to promote speed and accuracy in passing
Month 4: Shooting (basic principles)
- Correct body position when shooting
- Practice shooting close to the hoop
- "Shots on the move" drill to shoot after dribbling.
- Short game: "Shot on the run" to work on quick shots after dribbling.
Month 5: Individual defense
- Defensive stance (well-planted feet, active hands)
- Defensive lateral movements
- Exercise: Defend your teammate while he dribbles
- Short game: "1 vs 1" to practice individual defense
Month 6: Teamwork and basic strategy
- Roles on the court: point guard, shooting guard, small forward, center
- Concept of “team passing” to create space
- Introduction to a team game in half court
- Short game: “3 vs 3 matches” with a focus on passing and team movement
Month 7: Offensive and defensive transitions
- Running to defense after losing the ball
- Running to offense after stealing the ball
- Drill: “Transition run” (from defense to attack and vice versa)
- Short game: “Quick match” with constant changes
Month 8: Full match and evaluation
- Review of dribbling, passing, shooting and defense techniques
- Full 5 vs 5 game with basic rules
- Assessment of individual skills: ball handling, passing, shooting.
- Positive feedback and reinforcement for children

Purchasing uniforms
All uniforms and BNC merchandise are available to purchase through the Play HQ Shop.
Once you have purchased your items, they will be purchsed by your team managers.
There is a cut off period for uniform orders before each season ,so please remember to check this by contacting your team manager or emailing beacync@gmail.com
Playing uniform requirements
During games, players must wear the registered BNC uniform which is either:
- BNC dress
- BNC playing top and BNC skort
Players may wear plain black or white garments (e.g., singlet, t-shirt, long-sleeve top, shorts, leggings) underneath for warmth or comfort.
A uniform try-on session happens each year and is typically in February. If you cannot attend that's ok - just email beacync@gmail.com and we can assist you.
Non-playing merchandise
The following items are available for purchase (and if you do you'll be looking very dapper on the sidelines as a supporter, before or after your game!):
Hoodie, crewneck jumper, rain jacket, track pants, socks, beanie and hat!
